Paddington 2

On 20 November the children in Years 1-4 enjoyed a special screening of Paddington 2 at the Phoenix cinema in Oxford.

This was an exclusive schools’ event celebrating World Children’s Day in partnership with Unicef.

Unicef statement:

“The iconic Paddington Bear has become a champion for children in support of Unicef, to help keep all children happy, healthy and safe. The values exemplified by Paddington, of kindness, tolerance, and perseverance in the face of adversity (and marmalade-related mishaps), make him the perfect champion for children’s rights.

Around the world, millions of children are making journeys just like Paddington’s. They are having to leave their homes and travel far away, in search of somewhere safe to stay and people to look after them. A child is a child no matter where they are from or where they are going. Like Paddington, all children need the safety and security of being with their loved ones.”
