Survival skills day at Hill End Y3 – June 17

Year 3 and 4 had a wonderful day at Hill End learning how to survive when marooned on a desert island. They made fire, built shelters, filtered water, made giant SOS signs, debated and agreed on five essential items, built animal traps and generally got very muddy and enjoyed the forest and open space!

Year 3 visit to Corinium Museum – 22 March 2017

Year 3 visited the Corinium museum in Cirencester. We took part in a Roman workshop where we dressed as Romans, made mosaics, played Roman games and explored the wonderful museum.  See our photos…  

Science investigations in Year 3

Year 3 enjoyed planning their own investigations in groups for Science Week. The children investigated Which biscuit is the most dunkable in tea? Which fruits contain the most juice? Which materials are best for blocking out light and make good shadow puppets? and much much more…..

Fossils – Spring Term 2017

Year 3 have been learning all about how fossils are formed. We have been experimenting with making our own homemade fossils by making imprints with shells and toy dinosaurs into clay. We will add plaster next and then see our amazing fossils!

Ice skating Feb 2017

Just before half term Year 3 went ice skating at Oxford Ice Rink. We all enjoyed a lesson and improved our skills.
