Victorian Day

On Monday 18th June, West Oxford travelled back in time to the Victorian Times. The children enjoyed dressing up as Victorian children and taking part in traditional Victorian school activities. William Morris art work, Victorian handwriting and PE drills were some of the activities put on by teachers throughout the day.

World Book Day

Year 2 enjoyed reading their books, and dressing up as their favourite characters, during World Book Day.

Fire safety

Year 1 and 2  recently had a visit from the local fire brigade. They found out lots about fire safety and also had the chance to explore the fire engine. They were even allowed to spray water from the hose!

Paddington 2

Diwali

Year 2 were delighted to welcome Anjali’s grandmother into school a few weeks ago to talk about Diwali.  It was such an amazing experience for the class.  She used the children to tell the story, using beautiful costumes and candles to enhance the story.

Year 2 trip to Hill End – Jul 17

Year 2 had a fantastic day at Hill End. They made dens in the forest, toasted marshmallows round the camp fire, looked for butterflies and other mini beasts in the meadow, explored the cottage in the woods and took part in some tricky team challenges.  It was a lovely way to end the year!  

Year 2 trip to Farmer Gow’s – May 17

The children in Year 2 had an amazing time at Farmer Gow’s.  It was a fun packed day of egg collecting, feeding goats, sheep and pigs, a tractor ride and climbing about in the hale bales.  Best bit – hay bales!  

Visit to Oxford Castle – Year 2 – 10 March 2017
