Oxford Christmas Light Festival Lantern Parade

Year 6, accompanied by Ms Newman and Mrs Bethel, took part in the Oxford Christmas Light Festival Lantern Parade on Friday 16th November. Their lanterns were made on the theme ‘Undiscovered Oxford’ and showed Oxford Castle.  

Oxfordshire Book Awards 7th November 2018

Y6 Maths Challenge

On Thursday 8th November 2018, four Year 6 pupils represented the school at the Year 6 Mathematics Challenge at Headington Preparatory School. They took part in different maths challenges over 3 rounds, and out of 58 entered teams they came in first and second place! Well done!  

Y6 Lantern Making

Year 6 worked alongside an artist from Fusion Arts to create lanterns for the Oxford Light Festival. The theme was ‘Undiscovered Oxford’, and we have made castle themed lanterns. Year 6 will be taking part in the parade in Oxford on Friday 16th November.

Partnership Cross Country Competition 24/09/18

Year 6 Sulgrave Manor

Year 6 visited Sulgrave Manor to learn about Tudor life. We got to dress up as poor Tudors, played Tudor games and had a tour around the Manor House. We also got to look into the Blacksmith’s shed and we wrote in Tudor handwriting using a quill. We all had a great day!

Science Presentation

Year 3 returned the favour from earlier in the year, and came into Year 6 to show their science presentations. We were very impressed with their presentation skills.  

Victorian Day

On Monday 18th June, West Oxford travelled back in time to the Victorian Times. The children enjoyed dressing up as Victorian children and taking part in traditional Victorian school activities. William Morris art work, Victorian handwriting and PE drills were some of the activities put on by teachers throughout the day.
