Key person approach

We believe that children settle and learn best when they have a key person to relate to, who knows them and their parents well, and who can meet their individual needs. Therefore every child in our setting is allocated a key person who supports them and primarily provides for both their physical and emotional needs during their time in Foundation Stage.

  • Nursery – parents are given a letter at the start of term informing them of their child’s key person. 
  • Reception – class teacher Lucy Ingram and teaching assistant Alex Pilc act as key person for each child in Reception class.
