Friends Of The West Oxford SchoolWho We Are
The Friends are responsible for most of the fundraising and social events organised at the school – all parents are automatically members, and we’d love you to get involved.
making the school a better place
We raise money to improve the school’s resources and facilities.
A wide range of social and fundraising activities are arranged throughout the year and all FRIENDS are welcome to join in.
The organisers of the FRIENDS activities are a dedicated, hardworking group of parents who are passionate about raising funds and supporting the school in many different ways. Many parents give generously of their time and any support you can give would be most welcome.
Fundraising For The School
We organise a variety of fundraising events for the school throughout the year, and the money we raise goes towards vital school facilities, equipment and projects.
Every December the Friends puts on our annual Winter Wonderland, which takes over the whole school with wreath-making, festive crafts, gift stalls, bring & buy, mulled wine and Christmas treats.
Before the end of the summer term, the Friends host a barbeque in the sunshine in the school grounds, with copious food and drink – a great opportunity to get together – and raise some money!
We don’t just do school events – every September we run the hugely successful tea tent at the local Binsey Fete, raising significant funds to support the school over mountains of cake!
raising money & bringing people together
Will you get involved in September? We need your help.
In September we will kick off again with an action-packed calendar of events for parents and children.
Our first meeting will be in early September and we’d be delighted if you could join us to help us make plans for the school year as we plan the new school playground and work together to raise money for equipment and facilities for the school.
We want you to get involved, so please email us at email@example.com if you have any fundraising ideas, experience or can offer a (much needed!) pair of hands at one of our events.
